General K12Rewards Information

K12Rewards makes fundraising smarter and easier. This unique rewards program lets you raise money for your school and at the same time get rewarded for your everyday online shopping. It's simple - Sign up for their free account, shop online at any of our 600+ participating retailers, and your school earns up to 2% back in cash and you earn up to 3% cash back, too. Plus you have other ways to earn by doing things like purchasing daily deals, making donations to the school, or even posting videos of school events to your school's High School TV Network site.

The K12Rewards program allows you to save with a currency called SchoolBucks. As a K12Reward's member, you accumulate SchoolBucks for making purchases at over 600 participating partners in addition to a participating in a number of non-shopping activities. These rewards can be redeemed in cash, or a host of other redemption options we may make available based on partner requirements.

SchoolBucks are the currency used on the K12Rewards site. One SchoolBuck is equivalent to 50¢ U.S., so 50 SchoolBucks can be redeemed for $25 cash. You can redeem SchoolBucks (subject to redemption policies) for cash deposited directly to your checking or savings account.

To join our program simply fill out our short online membership enrollment application, which is located at www.k12rewards.com. Once you are enrolled, start earning SchoolBucks immediately when you shop through our store links. Members can only have 1 (one) K12Rewards account and must be over the age of 14.

Enrollment in K12Rewards is completely free. There is never any cost to you.

No. K12Rewards is a private entity. We are the only private company trying to do our part to help reduce the National Deficit with the help of K12Rewards members. We do not align or endorse any political party or agenda. We are here only to help Americans save.

Earning SchoolBucks

Nearly every item or service you purchase through K12Rewards qualifies for SchoolBucks. When determining the amount of your rewards, taxes, shipping and handling, or any portion of a purchase that is paid for with coupons, gift certificates or a store credit is excluded. The purchase of products and services which are completed by phone do not qualify for rewards. In some cases, merchant specific exclusions apply as well. Many stores do not pay out a credit on the purchase of gift cards. You can view the specific terms of a store by hovering over the store logo on the Shop page.

In general, no. With the exception of certain stores (see each stores individual listing under the Shop tab), most merchants exclude gift certificates and gift cards from their list of products eligible for rewards.

Depending on the merchant, it takes 2 to 30 days from the time they shipped the qualifying purchase. If it has been more than 30 days since the ship date and your transaction has not posted to your K12Rewards account, please click here to report a missing transaction. Missing transactions must be reported no later than ninety (90) days from the qualifying purchase. SchoolBucks will not be awarded on missing transactions after 90 days. For services and travel related purchases, SchoolBucks are rewarded on the day the qualifying purchases was delivered or completed (some examples include but are not limited to; day of flight, hotel stay, subscription delivery, services rendered and so on).

When you click on one our stores, you should see a Visit ID window which displays the store's info. This window will transfer you directly to the store of your choice. Provided that you do not use any coupon codes towards your purchase that are NOT found on k12rewards.com, you should be properly cookied to receive the credit. Always make sure you are logged into your K12Rewards account before you start shopping.

Absolutely. As soon as you register you are ready to start saving when you shop.

K12Rewards has partnerships with products and services from over 600 Top-Rated Stores. Many are brands that you know and trust, and are already buying from. Click here to see our full list of stores.

If you need to make a return and want to keep your rewards for the remainder of your purchase, your return will need to be final and complete (not an exchange). Ask the merchant to refund your bank or credit card and then place the order through K12Rewards again, in order to receive the remaining rewards.

When using coupons and special offers at any of our stores, we can only guarantee your rewards with the use of coupons or codes that are listed on the K12Rewards site, were received in our promotional mailings or via our blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts. If you use a coupon or promo code that you found anywhere except k12rewards.com it will invalidate your SchoolBucks. For example, if you visit Target.com and see a promo code on their site and decide to use it - you will not receive your SchoolBucks even if you visited Target.com through K12Rewards. If you have any questions please contact service@k12rewards.com and we can further assist you.

Returns are subject to the return policy of the store from whom you made your purchase. If you return or cancel an item, we will reverse any rewards received from that sale. Returns, cancellations or exchanges may render an entire order ineligible for rewards (not just the portion of the order which was returned). When you make a return or exchange, the merchant cancels your original order and initiates a new one. When this happens, K12Rewards also loses the credit that we issue to our members for the sale and the order is deemed to have been placed directly at the merchant's site. Since the merchant does not pay us the commission, we are unable to offer rewards for the purchase.

Easy. When you are ready to make a purchase log onto www.k12rewards.com and click on one of our many stores to complete your purchase. The percent located next to the store link is the amount credited to you in SchoolBucks. For instance, if you spend $100 at a store that offers 10% SchoolBucks you will receive 10 SchoolBucks in your account.

To receive cash rewards, you must have a checking account drawn from a U.S. bank.

We are always adding more shopping opportunities and negotiating with existing stores for better discounts so that you can accumulate more SchoolBucks. Occasionally stores will stop participating in affiliate programs, and when this happens we are usually able to quickly replace the store with another suitable choice.

No. K12Rewards cannot give rewards for the portion of a purchase that is made with gift cards or certificates.

Donating SchoolBucks

There are different ways you can donate to your school. The easiest way is to do all of your online shopping through k12rewards.com. Every time you make a purchase, a percentage of your total goes directly to your chosen school or program, in addition to providing you with SchoolBucks. You can also choose to donate your SchoolBuck rewards to your school of choice, as well. Additionally, K12Rewards allows you to make a direct donation to your school or program through our site. The best part is that you'll also earn SchoolBucks for your generosity.

We currently do not support automatic, recurring donations. Check back in the future for this function as we are always working on ways to improve the participant experience.

Donations that you may make to your school or charitable program through the K12Rewards site may be considered tax deductible. You should confer with your tax advisor to make sure. You will also receive a printable receipt from us for your records with every cash donation. However, please keep in mind that this is for informational purposes and may not constitute adequate evidence of your donation for tax purposes. If you need additional documentation, you should contact the recipient school or charitable program directly.

The minimum SchoolBuck donation to your school or program is 50 SchoolBucks and the minimum direct donation is $25.

Support a Specific Program or Group

K12Rewards gives you the flexibility to not just support your favorite school, but also to direct your SchoolBucks or cash donations to a specific program or group at your school, such as a sports team, academic club or special event. When you sign up for K12Rewards, you are asked to select your school of choice. After finding and selecting your school, you can then go to the Donate tab then select a specific program or group. The rewards you earn will go directly to that program or group, instead of the general school fund.

SchoolBuck donations are not tax deductible, because SchoolBucks are considered rewards and not a cash donation. However, if you make a direct donation to your school or program, that donation is considered tax deductible! You will receive a printable receipt for your records with every cash donation.
